Hot chocolate for the whole family: 4 cozy recipes

Hot chocolate brings adults and kids together. Smart & Rich hot chocolate is made from natural cocoa, sweetened with stevia and enriched with Ganoderma extract. Here are four recipes for cozy evenings.

1. Classic — with milk

Pour a sachet into a cup, add a little hot milk and stir into a smooth paste, then top up with milk to 200 ml (7 oz). This way the chocolate is thicker and has no lumps.

2. With cinnamon and orange

Make the chocolate with milk, add a pinch of cinnamon and a strip of orange zest. Let it stand for a minute and remove the zest. It smells like a holiday evening.

3. Mexican style, with chili

This is how the ancient Aztecs drank chocolate — “chocolatl” meant “bitter water”. Add a tiny pinch of ground chili and cinnamon to your hot chocolate. The spicy warmth brings out the cocoa flavour. This one is for adults.

4. Iced chocolate shake

Dissolve a sachet in 50 ml (2 oz) of hot water, let it cool, add 150 ml (5 oz) of cold milk and blend with ice or a scoop of ice cream. A summer dessert in two minutes.

If kids are drinking

  • Cocoa can be introduced to a child’s diet after the age of 2–3, starting with a small portion to make sure there is no allergy.
  • For kids, make the drink with milk and less concentrated — half a sachet per cup.
  • The hot chocolate contains milk — keep this in mind in case of lactose intolerance.

The best time for a cup of hot chocolate is morning or afternoon. And in the evening it is a great reason to gather the whole family around the table.
